YOUR KOKODA TRACK ITINERARY
DAY 1: Fly to Port Moresby from point of departure.
Overnight Hotel - briefing after dinner
Dinner and Continental breakfast included.
DAY 2: Fly to Kokoda by charter aircraft earliest posssible a.m.
Activities at Kokoda incl. tours of battle sites, memorials and HT Kienzle Museum.
Plantation visit and white water gummying( car tubes) optional
Traditional welcome Kokoda.
First night at Kokoda Oro Haven
DAY 3: Up early for first day on the Trail.
Walk to Isurava Village. Approx 7 hours, hard going.
Overnight Isurava Village
DAY 4: Visit Isurava Memorial - short service held here.
Trek to Eora Creek camp, if time permits, via Abuari.
Arduous day also. Battle sites enroute.
Overnight Eora Ck camp - warm gear needed
DAY 5: Third day on the Trail. Up early again for small service at Eora Creek.
Walk to Dump 1 , passing through Templeton's Crossing,
Explanation of original War Trail and pre-war mail trail routes.
DAY 6: Fourth day on Trail.
Head to Myola, passing through the moss forests,
and the highest point of the Trail, the ridge of Mt Bellamy
Overnight Myola #2
DAY 7: Myola to Efogi. Long day. Walking through moss forests, out onto Myola #1
On to the spectacular scenery of Kagi gap, down to Naduli
From there to Efogi 2 and on to Efogi 1 where we are resupplied
Overnight Efogi 1
DAY 8: Efogi to Ugologo
Stop and pay respects at Brigade Hill, full history lesson.
Nights not so cold from here on.
Lunch at Menari ,over The Wall down through the swamps of Brown River
Spend night at Ugologo - nice swimming hole, good camp site
DAY 9: Early start,cross Brown River up over the 9 false peaks of the Maguli Range
passing through Nauro village en route.
Overnight Ofi Creek
DAY 10: Eighth day. Big day's walk from Ofi Creek to the Goldie River .
Pass over Ioribaiwa Ridge along Ua-ule Creek, crossing it about a dozen times,
up over Imita Ridge , down past Dump 66.
Overnight Moresby side of Goldie River
DAY 11: Sleep in today. Head up to Ower's Corner
THROUGH THE ARCHES - the end of the Trail.
Call in to Bomana War Cemetery en route to Port Moresby.
Overnight Hotel POM. Debriefing & presentation over dinner.
Dinner included.
DAY 12: Transfer to POM airport for morning flight home.
Breakfast included.
Note: Some variations to this itinerary may occur according to population of other trekkers at campsites, weather delays
timeliness of food re-supply drops and fitness of trekkers - plus the whim of historian Soc.
